Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.
